Community of the Mission of Don Bosco which became part of the Salesian Family would carry on its service of contributing to the human and Christian development of young people says its General Guardian.

The Salesian Rector Major and his council have accepted the request of the “Community of the Mission of Don Bosco” (CMB) to become part of the Salesian Family on Jan. 15, reports said.

CMB General Guardian Guido Pedroni said for them “it is a great joy that we now participate in the most definitive and clear way in the Salesian charism, according to our original intention.”

“We are full of gratitude for the spiritual gift we have received from our very beginnings,” he said according to a news item published in vidimusdominum.info, a website that carries news about Religious life across the world.

The new Salesian member would carry on its service of contributing “to the human and Christian development of young people,” Pedroni said.

The CMB, founded in 1982, works in five countries – Italy, Madagascar, Chile, Burundi, Argentina – where it is responsible for various activities and works on behalf of youngsters, especially the poorest.

It was juridically established in 1994, and in 2001 it was approved “ad experimentum” in the Church of Bologna and definitively in 2004 as a Private Association of the faithful according to canon law.

The “Community of the Mission of Don Bosco” is the 28th group of the Salesian Family.
