‘Be with us and bless us to journey along the way of the Lord to continue our journey of Faith, to be a mystic and prophet in the 21st century and joining our foundress St. Maria Micaela, we proudly say Thanks a million times Lord’
The newly elected Superior General Sr. Teresa Valenzuela and Sr. Aurelia Agradano, assistant general arrived in Mumbai on 11th October.
They will have personal encounters with the sisters, animation of communities in their journey of faith and motivate the sisters to live the Spirit of the General Chapter that every Adorer is called to be a mystic and prophet in the 21st century.
She had a day to animate all the superiors of the communities and encouraged the sisters to be committed to the cause of the exploited women/children of the society.
The occasion was marked by the final Profession of three sisters on 13th October at St Vincent Pallotti Church, Andheri East.
‘Forever with you, O Lord’ was the melody as Sr. Freshina Lopez, Sr. Sebastaina Minj and Sr Margret Gracious walked to the altar of the Lord to commit themselves finally to Jesus in the congregation of Sisters Adorers. The solemn thanksgiving Eucharistic celebration was presided over by Bishop Emeritus Percival Fernandez and was concelebrated by six priests.
In his homily the Bishop dwelt on the young man who wanted to follow Jesus radically, however went away sadly. His message directed to the sisters was not to compare their lives with others rather to compare their lives with Jesus and stay connected to Him.
Bishop Percival’s collection of little pearl stories explained how to live one’s ministry in life by being a relative of Jesus with compassion and kindness.
The valiant sisters walked up to the altar and pronounced their final vows and the Superior General accepted their vows in the name of the church. They went up to the altar to sign the register book in the presence of the all the assembly. There after they received the silver ring as sign of their final commitment to Jesus. Those were grace filled moments for all especially for the three sisters.
After the Eucharistic celebration, the felicitation programme followed with music and dances staged by the children of the Navajyothi Home of the Sisters Adorers.
The sumptuous meal was a fellowship moment of joyous gathering. Gratitude filled the three hearts as they thanked all those who helped them to reach this great day, a red letter day for them.
